Live As Though You Were Dying!

   The other day, while taking a break, I took the time to watch a movie with “Queen Latifah” in it.  It was called, Last Holiday.  It is a movie worth watching.  Why?  Beacause, it has the ability to make us think.  To think about what we are missing and not doing.  Here was this reclusive young woman who was locked in the box of – one day.  One day I will do this, one day I’m going there. One day, One day!  Until one day she bumps her head and goes to the doctor.  She is then falsely diagnosed and believe she is now dying.

 

    Scared and questioning her faith, she cries “Why me lord.”  She starts contemplating all the things she haven’t done.  She has been saving money and even has a “Wish” list (a get round-to-it list.  She decides to do something about it and “get busy living” as opposed to “dying.”

 

   Armed with the knowledge of dying she embarks on a Marvelous journey.  She goes to her dream place, a beautiful high class resort,  and meet one of the Chef’s she emulates.  Her new power influences her personality.  She is now strong,confident, direct, honest, opinionated, stands up for the weak, a risk taker  and have a heir of vivaciousness.

    The point is she took action.  She moved on her dreams and desires.  Her actions stirred a whole pot of events.  (A step of faith can manifest awesome possibilities).  In the end, she got her man, opened up her own eating establishment and influenced the lives of many around her.

    We too can follow the example of Georgia Byrd, Queen Latifah’s character.  We just don’t have to wait until some drastic event occurs.  See basically, LIFE is short, and we need to get busy living.  What I mean is positively living to acheive our DREAMS, GOALS AND AMBITIONS.   Express yourself, love people, wake up each morning and take actions.  Put your plans into effect, and share your dreams, but don’t let others eat up your plans/time with static wasteful void.
